The 8 Week Purgatory

If you grew up in a baseball/football house (as I did) and then you yourself became a baseball/football watching quasi adult person fan (as I am) then you know that February and March are long, chilly, and generally gray months with no professional sports to excite you.

I realize that there is professional basketball and hockey (yay Boston Garden), and of course March Madness for those college sports followers–a hyperactive, drunken tribe of which I am not a part–but for me, the next eight weeks will trudge along at a glacial pace.

So until pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training, I guess I’ll just suffer through this Global Warming-free, frigidly cold winter. Data to support my whining below:
